June 23, 2011I’ve been hard at work adding a page to Hoagyland that links the song title used in the post back to the photo. Now you can search by song title. Check it out!
The 44’s and Los Fabulocos
June 8, 2011More photos from my adventures at the Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Festival. The 44’s kicked off the festival on the blues stage, where Kid Ramos sat in for a song or two, followed by Los Fabulocos featuring Kid Ramos. Here’s my version of what happened:
Photos from Simi Valley
June 6, 2011Memorial Day weekend had me in southern California at the Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Festival. As usual I took lots of pics. Here’s a slideshow from the Lester Butler Tribute Band with Big Pete and the rest of the band honoring Lester Butler. For a review of the show or to learn more about Lester, check nofightin.com.
Fourth of July Weekend
July 8, 2010My husband and I — along with a new lens for the camera — decided on a last minute trip to Chicago for FitzGerald’s American Music Festival. We both wanted to see the Blasters with special guest/original member Dave Alvin. My husband assured me that I’d enjoy the rest of the acts, and I trust him. I rearranged my work schedule and off we went. I was not disappointed. Two nights of the festival, three different stages, good fun, plenty of waitresses and a Cubs game to fill the time between days. We even had paper napkin fireworks! If you want to hear more about the festival, check out this review or this one. Trust me, it was a great festival, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. My new lens served me well, too. Take a look. Oh, and this is just a small sample, check the reviews above or here for more pics.

Hoagyland!
June 14, 2010If you’ve been reading this blog you know I’ve been keeping an eye on the Hoagy Carmichael statue outside the IU Auditorium. I’ve taken so many shots of him and the various items that people have left him over the last few years that I’ve started a new blog about it. I give you: Hoagyland! Please feel free to check back often!

February 21, 2010New camera lens
January 10, 2010It’s true, I’ve saved up my pennies and purchased a new lens for my camera. I won’t bore you with the details, but will happily share pics from my first adventure out with it. It just so happens that Bloomington — along with a big chunk of the country — is getting covered in snow. This should be fun.
If you have any camera purchasing questions check out this guy: Ken Rockwell. He has yet to steer me wrong. Thanks, Ken!

At Bryan Park
The children were all sledding.
The park was actually full of people. All sledding — no sitting.
To be honest, it was very cold, and I didn’t end up staying out very long. I promise to take lots more in the future.
Summer pics
August 10, 2009I’ve been outside, it being summer and all. Just thought I’d share a few images I’ve stumbled across.
